Week 3 - Deep South

Wild Sea Expedition - Sudan Deep South

With this week we can end the season Deep South in Sudan, where we will go from fishing atolls in the middle of the Red Sea to endless costal flats. This week we managed to find a good amount of fish on the flats giving the chance to have shots to every species, having also some heartbreaking moments with the permits and big geets.

We found a tricky fishing for all the species with the full moon because they were feeding during the night but we were able to make numbers again. We landed 33 triggers between yellow margin and titan, chasing tails out on the flats with the low tide. Also we have the opportunity of chase permits for a long time on the flats, giving us some chances with them although usually we found them among the surgeon fish, which made their hunt very difficult with this spooky fish around.

Geets and bluefins were so slow for the full moon but we landed 1 on fly and losing few and having shot to rally big Geets on the flats even this week we were able to have shots to giant bump head parrotfish and some napoleons on the flats.

The result of chase this species this week was mainly broken lines and leaders into the coral.

We enjoyed the time with these guys in the Don Questo spend a lot of time laughing and joking! Cheers guys!

Wild Sea Expedition

We are a small crew of young explorers who have been the first fishing through a number of areas over the Red Sea (Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti), the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean (Yemen, Somaliland) to discover places outside of the touristic route.
