During the past Socotra season, we had the opportunity to learn a tremendous amount about both the fishery and the unique conditions that shape it. It turned out to be one of the most unusual seasons we have experienced so far, mainly due to persistent strong southern winds that affected the region for almost the entire duration of the season.

Early in the trip, we lost more than 11 fish and mostly landed smaller ones. Bites didn’t come easily, and our guests had to put in real effort to make things happen.
