Djibouti Trip Number 6

Johanes and Marc enjoying the last light catch

This week, we welcomed another diverse group of anglers from various countries, and among them was Lydia, a young girl angler. It’s always refreshing to have a woman on a fishing trip, and I have to say, Lydia was one of the toughest anglers I’ve ever seen. Her dedication and drive resulted in her having many strikes. Overall, the fishing wasn’t exactly non-stop action, but there were still plenty of exciting moments. We had short bursts of intense activity where, in just a matter of minutes, we’d experience a frenzy of feeding with multiple hook-ups and land several solid fish in quick succession.

Trophy Barracuda for Lydia

There was also a variety of good catches, and we had accumulated some great numbers overall of different species with some big giant trevally lost, and some landed.

Good GT for our lucky angler Andy

It was another week of persistence and reward, with plenty of high points to reflect on, and a reminder that in Djibouti, you always have to be ready for that next big catch.

Until the next one,

Tight Lines.
